03/28/13 02:00 PM EDT    Home Alone: Family Caregivers Providing Complex Chronic Care
AARP and the United Hospital Fund collaborated on a study that challenges the perception of family caregiving as a set of personal care and household tasks that are relatively easy to do.  These include bathing, dressing, eating, and household tasks such as shopping and managing finances. While these are critically important, the role of family caregivers has dramatically expanded to include performing medical/nursing tasks of the kind and complexity once only provided in hospitals.

Susan Reinhard, Senior Vice President at AARP Public Policy Institute, will present findings from this study that investigates:
  • What types of medical/nursing tasks family caregivers perform
  • What they find difficult
  • Who trains them; and
  • The impact on the quality of their life
She will also present recommendations to aid caregivers with complex care co-ordination and medication management. Join us for this FREE 30 minute Webinar that will be followed by a 15-minute question and answer session.
