Role of Diet in Macular Degeneration Treatment

by Alan McClain, Macular Degeneration Expert
November 02, 2017

Question: Does diet play a big role in the treatment of macular degeneration?

Answer: Yes, it is of very high importance to change over to the "Mediterranean diet" consisting of green vegetables, certain berries, nuts, natural fruits, high fiber, some fish, and olive oil.  It is equally important to immediately stop poor diet choices including pastries, dairy products, sodas, processed "junk" foods, and sugary foods.  For complete details, see my book How I Beat Macular Degeneration in the Early Stages and How You Can, Too! as well as my website BeatMacDegen.com.  Anyone who smokes should stop smoking immediately because smoking is a strong contributor to macular degeneration.
