Can Sepsis Affect Anyone?

by Lisa Brandt, Sepsis Expert
September 22, 2017

Question: Can sepsis affect anyone or is there a certain profile that is more sensitive to it?

Answer: Sepsis doesn't discriminate. It can happen to anyone. I was in excellent health when I became ill with sepsis. However, there are some conditions and age profiles that are at a higher risk. They include people older than 65 and younger than 2, those who have chronic health conditions (cancer, diabetes) and weakened immune systems. Please visit for more information.
