How Much do Hearing Aids Cost?

Question: How much do hearing aids cost?

Answer: When it comes to the cost of hearing aids, there are several factors to consider. The consumer should obtain information from their hearing healthcare provider about the cost of the actual hearing devices, fitting and orientation fees, repair and loss/damage warranty, and whether the cost includes follow-up services. Additionally, the cost will vary depending on the style of hearing aid and level of technology. Accessories such as remotes, streaming devices, or rechargeable batteries/rechargers may or may not be included. Each of these factors influence the amount you pay for hearing aids.

Consumers should check with their medical insurance to see if they offer hearing healthcare coverage. If there are no benefits, hearing aids, fitting fees, follow-up services, and warranty can be $1500 - $8000. Most people; however, can find solutions and benefit from instruments that fall within the $3500 - $5500 range. Appropriately fit hearing aids can positively impact the quality of your life, so utilize the trial periods wisely and visit your hearing healthcare provider at least once a year to ensure that the hearing aids are cleaned and performing optimally. Well maintained devices will increase the longevity of the hearing instruments and reduced the daily cost it requires to have improved hearing.
