Don't Miss the Dec 15th Deadline for Health Coverage Enrollment!

The Health Insurance Marketplace is an easy way to get health coverage in a plan available online, by phone or through a paper application. All plans cover basic benefits, pre-existing conditions and preventive care. The health coverage plans are set up in such a way that most people qualify for tax credits leading to lowered coverage costs.

The qualifying criteria is savings based on income. Any job-based plan, Medicare, Medicaid, CHIP or any plan bought by yourself is a qualifying factor. Here is the full list.

Those who don’t opt for any kind of coverage in 2015, will have to pay a penalty of either 2% of the full income or $325 per adult and $162.50 per child (whichever is higher).

December 15th, 2014 is the last day to enroll for coverage starting from January 1st, 2015. Irrespective of when you’ve enrolled, all 2014 Marketplace coverage ends on December 31st, 2014.
