Question: What orthodontic options for adults will work best?
Answer:
If you are
a candidate for braces, the orthodontist will recommend the braces that best
suits your needs. There are different types of braces, as follows:
1. Traditional
braces/Metal braces
These braces are most commonly worn. They consist of metal brackets and wires
that move your teeth to the desired position.
2. Ceramic
Braces
Ceramic braces
are similar to metal bracesbut they have clear or tooth-colored brackets that
blend into the teeth to make them less noticeable.
3. Lingual
Braces
Lingual braces are
just like the traditional metal braces, but the brackets and wires are placed
on the inside of your teeth.
4. Invisalign®
Invisalign® has
aseries of 18 to 30 custom-made,clear aligners. These Invisalign clear aligners can be removed and need to be
replaced every 2 weeks.
