Protecting Yourself Against Skin Cancer

Question: What precautions can I take to protect myself from the risk of skin cancer?

The most important precaution is avoiding UV light exposure by avoiding direct sun exposure and of course not using tanning beds. Not smoking is also a good idea. Be aware of your skin is also important - if you notice you have a new spot that isn’t going away or an area of your skin that is broken and not healing, you should see your doctor for a skin check.
