Is There an Age Limit for Orthodontic Treatment?

by Dr. Jacob Koch, Specialized Orthodontist
June 21, 2019

Question: My grandmother is 75 years old. Is she too old to go for orthodontic treatment?

Answer: People of all ages can wear braces to treat dental problemssuch as overbite, underbite, misaligned teeth, overcrowded teeth, etc. However, the teeth movement slows down with age. So, orthodontictreatment in adults can take time but offers results just as good. Withtraditional braces, oral health care may get disrupted. So, you can opt forInvisalign treatment that includes a clear tray which is removable and easy toclean.
