I have been a caregiver for home bound senior citizens for over six years dealing with everything from Alzheimer's, Parkinson's and several other issues that affect the elderly. Recently, I have taken on the role of primary caregiver for my sister that is in need of a heart transplant.
She wears a life vest/ automatic defibulator and carries a monitor with her at all times. She also has another pack that she carries a pump for heart medicine called Milrinone. She is on the transplant waiting list at a level 1B which is close to the top of the list. Having turned 52 in March of 2011, she is quite young for these problems. Most people don't think of someone that young as one to have heart problems.
